This trust was founded in the honour of Dr. Vasantrao S. Pimprikar, a general medical doctor. He began his medical practice in a small village in rural Maharashtra. He had taken over this practice from his father, Dr. Shridhar Pimprikar. Continuing this tradition, our founding trustee, Dr. Milind Pimprikar took over from Dr. Vasantrao S. Pimprikar to start his medical practice in Lasalgaon. He is a general and orthopaedic surgeon with an MSc in Sports and Exercise medicine, and currently practices medicine at Dr. Pimprikar Hospital, Nashik. The Pimprikar family is in service of mankind for three generations.
We, at the V.S. Pimprikar Trust, one of our major aim is to give back to our rural roots by providing healthcare facilities of the highest quality to people originating from poor economic backgrounds. This includes performing surgeries at an extremely concessional cost.
To provide our population with world class sports training and equipment, we collaborated with one of the finest pace bowlers this country produced Mr. Zaheer Khan and worked as franchise of ProSport. Our trainers underwent educational sessions every 15 days by well-known South African physiotherapists.
2015:We organised the Therapeutic Ankle Shoulder, Knee Arthroscopy (TASK) meet. A total of 70 orthopaedic surgeons from all over the nation participated as delegates. During this meet, educational lectures and seminars, with live surgery demonstrations, were delivered by eminent faculty members. We operated 9 patients for less than half of the medical cost so as to help patients as well as further medical education.
2012 – 2015:Dr. Pimprikar hospital and Dr. V.S. Pimprikar Charitable trust jointly with Rotary Club (Nashik West) conducted various yearly camps for the cataract with state of art phacoemulsification technique at less than half of the prevailing cost.
We hosted a speciality conference, The Knee, for orthopaedic surgeons to learn new techniques in arthroscopic knee surgeries. This was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Jamkar, the Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. Herein, we operated 7 patients at less than half of the medical cost.
To celebrate talented sportspeople belonging to rural Maharashtra, we also help felicitation ceremonies for athletes like Kavita Raut, who has won a bronze medal in 10,000 meters running at the Asian Games.
Nashik is a training centre for Sports Authorities of India (SAI). Consequently, training athletes visit our hospital and sports medicine centre regularly. We have tried to contribute to their healthcare by presenting them with medical insurance policies to protect them financially in case of injuries.
We were fitness partners for the grand event of marathon conducted by Nashik Police under able guidance of Mr Ravinder Singhal.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have formed a collaboration with Genescope.ai, Pune – a genetic profiling company - to search conduct genotypic profiling so as to search for potential candidates belonging to rural India who can participate in international sporting events.
